10-Minute cell therapy tested for devastating autoimmune disease

NCT ID NCT07403097

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new, quickly-made cell therapy for people with severe lupus that hasn't improved with standard drugs. The therapy, called PTOC1, uses the patient's own modified immune cells (CAR-T cells) to target and reduce harmful B cells thought to drive the disease. Researchers will check if the treatment is safe and if it can lower disease activity in up to 18 participants.
