First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This early-phase study is testing a new treatment called C-CAR168 for people with severe autoimmune diseases affecting the brain and spinal cord, such as multiple sclerosis and autoimmune encephalitis, that have not improved with standard therapies. The treatment uses a patient's own immune cells, which are modified in a lab to target and attack harmful immune cells. The main goal is to check the safety of this approach and find the right dose in a small group of 15 adults.
