New hope for myeloma patients with kidney issues: safer CAR t prep under study

Summary
This early-phase study tests whether a low-dose radiation and chemotherapy combination before CAR T cell therapy is safe and effective for multiple myeloma patients who also have kidney problems. Standard CAR T prep can be hard on the kidneys, so this approach aims to offer a gentler option. About 16 adults with relapsed or hard-to-treat myeloma and reduced kidney function will participate.
