Engineered immune cells take on lupus and scleroderma in early trial

NCT ID NCT07315087

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a new treatment called QT-019C, which uses specially engineered immune cells (CAR T-cells) to target and attack faulty cells that cause autoimmune diseases like lupus, scleroderma, and vasculitis. The treatment is given as a one-time infusion and aims to control disease activity in people whose conditions have not responded to standard therapies. The main goal is to check safety, but researchers will also look for signs that the disease improves.
