New CAR T-Cell combo shows promise for tough lymphoma

NCT ID NCT01840566

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested whether giving patients their own genetically modified immune cells (CAR T-cells) after high-dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant is safe for treating aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has come back or not responded to treatment. Seventeen adults with relapsed or refractory disease took part. The main goal was to find the safest dose of CAR T-cells and monitor side effects. While this approach aims to control the cancer, it is not a cure because ongoing management may still be needed.
