Engineered immune cells from cord blood take on tough lymphoma
NCT ID NCT06707259
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 40 times
Summary
This early-phase trial is testing a new type of cell therapy made from cord blood. The cells are engineered to recognize and attack a protein called CD19 on lymphoma cells, plus they carry extra signals (IL-10 and IL-15) to help them work better. The study will enroll 24 adults with B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma that has come back or not responded to at least two prior treatments. The main goal is to check safety and find the right dose, while also looking at how well it shrinks tumors.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Cord blood-derived CAR NK cells (anti-CD19 with IL-10/IL-15)
What this could lead to
If this works, it could offer a new treatment option for people with hard-to-treat B-cell lymphoma that hasn't responded to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 24 participants, so it's too soon to know if it's safe or effective. There may be side effects like cytokine release syndrome or the therapy may not work at all.
Conditions
