First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests a drug called canakinumab in 41 former smokers at high risk for lung cancer. The drug blocks a protein involved in inflammation, which may help reduce cancer growth. Researchers will measure changes in inflammation markers from samples of the mouth, nose, and blood to see if the drug has a positive effect.
