First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether taking a single dose of the painkiller diclofenac before a root canal can lower pain after the procedure. 160 adults with tooth pain were split into two groups: one got the painkiller 30 minutes before treatment, the other got none. Those who took the pill reported significantly less pain at 6 and 12 hours after the root canal.
