First seen Dec 11, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looked at whether taking a single dose of diclofenac (a common painkiller) 30 minutes before a root canal can lower pain after the procedure. 160 adults with severe tooth pain took part. Half got the painkiller beforehand, half did not. Those who took it were much more likely to be pain-free at 6 and 12 hours after treatment.
