Slow drip may save nerves: new trial for cancer patients

NCT ID NCT03800693

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares giving the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin over 2 hours versus 6 hours to see if the longer infusion reduces nerve damage. About 60 people with gastrointestinal cancers who are scheduled for at least 4 cycles of FOLFOX6 chemotherapy will participate. The goal is to prevent or delay nerve damage so patients can stay on full doses of chemo without delays.
