Heart rate check may predict Post-Surgery sickness in women
NCT ID NCT06948708
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring heart rate variability (a sign of nervous system balance) before surgery can predict nausea and vomiting after gallbladder removal. 110 women having laparoscopic cholecystectomy wore a heart rate monitor before and after surgery. The goal was to see if a simple, non-invasive test could help identify who is at higher risk for post-operative nausea, without giving any treatment.
