Brandy for digestion? french study tests holiday tradition
NCT ID NCT06728761
Summary
This study looked at whether a French tradition of drinking Calvados brandy during a rich meal actually helps digestion. Eight healthy volunteers ate a large meal and either had Calvados or water partway through. Researchers used ultrasound to measure how quickly the stomach emptied and asked about feelings of fullness and appetite. The goal was to see if the common belief about alcohol aiding digestion is true or false.
