Morning coffee before surgery? study tests caffeine to protect moms during C-Sections
NCT ID NCT07076654
Summary
This study tested whether giving pregnant women a dose of caffeine by mouth before a planned cesarean delivery could prevent a dangerous drop in blood pressure caused by the spinal anesthesia. Researchers compared caffeine to a placebo in 90 women having planned C-sections. The goal was to see if this simple, pre-surgery step could make the procedure safer for mothers.
