First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving caffeine citrate to moderately preterm babies after they leave the hospital can prevent breathing pauses (apnea) that lead to sick visits. About 340 infants will receive either caffeine or a placebo daily for up to 28 days. Researchers will track apnea events and check developmental progress at 12 months.
