Lupus patients get immune system reset with custom CAR T-Cells

Summary
This early-phase study tests a new treatment called CABA-201 for people with active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including those with kidney inflammation (lupus nephritis). The therapy uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to target and destroy faulty B cells that drive the disease. The main goal is to check safety, but researchers will also measure how well it controls lupus activity. About 28 adults aged 18–65 with confirmed SLE and positive antibody tests may join.
