Spine surgery fluid study pulled before starting

NCT ID NCT06822374

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study was designed to see if a special saltwater solution (buffered 2% hypertonic saline) is better than standard fluids for children and teens having spine surgery for scoliosis. The goal was to compare how the body's acid-base balance and electrolyte levels changed during surgery. However, the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled, so no results are available.
