Can simple tape replace splints for hand fractures?

NCT ID NCT06734364

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether buddy taping (taping the injured finger to a healthy one) works as well as a splint for healing certain hand fractures. About 96 adults with minor fractures in fingers 2-5 will be randomly assigned to either treatment. Researchers will measure hand strength and function two months later to see if buddy taping is a good alternative.
