Nerve activity linked to jaw muscle stiffness in bruxers
NCT ID NCT06824766
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at 89 adults with bruxism (teeth grinding) and healthy volunteers to see if there is a connection between the body's 'automatic' nervous system and the tightness, stiffness, and elasticity of chewing muscles. Participants wore a heart rate monitor and had their jaw muscles tested with a special device. The goal was to better understand the underlying factors of bruxism, not to test a treatment.
