New CLL strategy spares patients unnecessary drugs

NCT ID NCT05650723

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) using two oral drugs, zanubrutinib and venetoclax. Instead of giving everyone a third drug from the start, only patients who still have signs of cancer after initial treatment will receive the additional drug obinutuzumab. The goal is to reduce side effects and improve results by tailoring therapy to each person's response. About 50 adults with CLL will take part.
