Special toothpaste and mouthwash take on plaque and gingivitis in new study
NCT ID NCT06244303
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a stannous fluoride toothpaste together with a cetylpyridinium chloride mouthwash works better than regular fluoride toothpaste alone for reducing dental plaque and gum inflammation (gingivitis). 82 adults with mild to moderate gum disease used their assigned products at home for 12 weeks. Researchers measured plaque and gum health at several checkups to see which routine was more effective.
