First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a special toothpaste with stannous fluoride plus a mouthwash with cetylpyridinium chloride works better than regular fluoride toothpaste for reducing plaque and gum inflammation. 82 adults with mild to moderate gum disease brushed at home and were checked after 1, 3, 6, and 12 weeks. The goal was to see which routine leads to cleaner teeth and healthier gums.
