What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
mindfulness-based treatment and cognitive-behavioral training
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a short, practical training program to help young adults cut down on heavy drinking and avoid alcohol-related problems.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with only 177 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The training is brief and may not produce lasting changes in drinking habits.
