One 2-hour zoom class may ease chronic migraine disability
NCT ID NCT05979337
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 28, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a brief behavioral class called Empowered Relief can reduce disability and symptoms in adults with chronic migraine. 300 participants will be randomly assigned to the class, a health education session, or usual care, all done remotely. The goal is to see if learning pain psychology and neuroscience in a single session can make a real difference in daily life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Empowered Relief (a single-session behavioral class using pain psychology and education)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, accessible way to reduce migraine-related disability and improve daily life without medication.
- What could go wrong
- This is a behavioral intervention, not a cure. Results may be modest, and benefits might not last long-term. The study is not blinded, so expectations could influence outcomes.
