First seen Dec 17, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether a brief alcohol intervention (a few counseling sessions) helps people who are starting or restarting PrEP (HIV prevention pills) to drink less and keep taking their medication. About 562 adults in Hanoi who report unhealthy drinking will be randomly assigned to receive the counseling or standard care. The goal is to see if the counseling improves PrEP use and reduces heavy drinking days.
