First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding an immunotherapy drug (durvalumab) to standard chemotherapy before radiation could help people with large, inoperable stage III lung cancer become eligible for radiation therapy. The goal was to shrink tumors enough to safely deliver radiation. The trial was stopped early, but the approach aimed to improve outcomes for patients who currently have few options.
