Breathing training may sharpen focus and ease anxiety in female athletes

NCT ID NCT07553039

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a special breathing exercise (diaphragm-focused inspiratory muscle training) could improve lung function, attention, anxiety, and motivation in healthy female athletes. 28 women who had been active in sports for at least 5 years took part. Some did the breathing training, some did a fake version (placebo), and others did no training. The goal was to see if this type of training offers any extra benefits beyond regular exercise.
