Can a wearable breathing coach help beat addiction cravings?
NCT ID NCT05454657
Summary
This study tested a new, portable breathing technique to help people in early recovery from substance use disorders. Researchers wanted to see if using a small wearable device to practice specific breathing exercises in the moment could help manage difficult emotions and reduce cravings for alcohol or drugs. The study involved 120 adults in their first year of recovery who used the device for 8 weeks to see if it helped them stay abstinent.
