First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at 40 adults with a tracheostomy who are having trouble breathing on their own after being on a ventilator. Researchers will test four different levels of a breathing exercise that targets the diaphragm, the main breathing muscle. They will measure muscle effort and ask patients how each level feels, aiming to find a safe and comfortable exercise that strengthens the right muscles.
