Scientists seek gentle way to rebuild breathing muscles in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07256821

Summary

This study aims to design a better breathing exercise program for patients who have trouble coming off ventilator machines. Researchers will test four different difficulty levels of breathing exercises on 40 patients to see which level best strengthens the main breathing muscle (the diaphragm) without causing distress or engaging the wrong muscles. The goal is to gather information that could lead to more effective rehabilitation for critically ill patients.
