Dense breasts may hide cancer: new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07415499
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at how breast density affects mammogram results in women aged 45 to 75. Dense breast tissue can make it harder to see cancer on a mammogram, leading to missed cancers or unnecessary extra tests. Researchers will review past screening data and test a software tool that measures breast density automatically. The goal is to improve screening and reduce anxiety from false alarms.
