New drug combo tested to keep advanced breast cancer in check

Summary
This study is testing if adding a drug called alpelisib to the standard hormone therapy fulvestrant can help control advanced breast cancer that has started to grow again while on fulvestrant alone. It is for 130 adults with a specific type of breast cancer (hormone-receptor positive, HER2-negative) that has a particular gene change (PIK3CA mutation). The main goal is to see if this combination can delay the cancer from getting worse again.
