Summary
This study aimed to determine whether women over 50 with small breast cancers could safely skip routine removal of underarm lymph nodes during surgery. Researchers compared survival outcomes between women who had lymph nodes removed and those who didn't. The trial was terminated early and enrolled 625 postmenopausal women with breast cancers smaller than 10mm.
