Can a 3-month pill test spare older breast cancer patients from radiation?
NCT ID NCT04272801
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving older women (65+) with early-stage, hormone-sensitive breast cancer a 3-month course of hormone pills before surgery helps them and their doctors decide if radiation is needed afterward. About 84 women will take the pills and report how they feel through surveys. The goal is not to cure or treat the cancer directly, but to gather information on how this pre-treatment influences treatment choices.
