Mini-Tumors in a dish could unlock secrets of breast cancer
NCT ID NCT05317221
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study aims to create a living biobank of breast cancer organoids—tiny 3D tumor models grown from patient tissue. Researchers will collect samples from 60 women undergoing breast cancer surgery and grow these mini-tumors in the lab. The goal is to see if these organoids mimic the original tumor's behavior and can help predict which treatments work best for each patient. This is a research study, not a treatment trial, so participants will not receive any experimental therapy.
