New scan aims to see inside breast cancer more clearly

NCT ID NCT03212170

Summary

This study tested a new type of combined PET/MRI scan to see if it could accurately measure a specific hormone receptor in breast cancer tumors. Researchers enrolled 21 women with newly diagnosed invasive breast cancer to see how well the scan's results matched traditional lab tests on tissue samples. The goal was to improve how doctors characterize breast cancer before treatment.
