New study aims to predict chemo heart risks in breast cancer patients
NCT ID NCT06443645
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a protein called SGLT2 can help identify breast cancer patients at higher risk for heart damage from a common chemotherapy drug (anthracycline). Researchers will measure SGLT2 levels in blood and cells before and after treatment. The goal is to better understand why some patients develop heart problems and find ways to prevent them. About 50 adults with localized breast cancer will participate.
