New treatment strategy tested to shrink breast tumors before surgery

Summary
This study tested whether new drug combinations could better control early-stage breast cancer in premenopausal women before surgery. 231 participants received either a new drug called giredestrant, that drug plus a hormone blocker, or a standard hormone therapy for four weeks. Researchers measured how much these treatments slowed cancer cell growth in tumor samples taken before and after treatment.
