Engineered immune cells take on hard-to-treat autoimmune disease

Summary
This phase 3 study tests whether a one-time infusion of specially engineered immune cells (CAR T cells) can control active systemic sclerosis better than current standard treatments. About 92 adults with lung and skin involvement will be randomly assigned to receive either the cell therapy or usual care. The main goal is to see if the new treatment improves lung function over time.
