Brain waves may reveal who will feel more pain after root canal

NCT ID NCT07445633

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring brain waves before a root canal can help predict how much pain a person will feel afterward. One hundred adults with tooth pain took part. Researchers recorded their brain activity at rest and then asked them to rate their pain after treatment. The goal was to see if certain brain wave patterns are linked to higher pain levels.
