Brain waves could reveal what children really hear
NCT ID NCT06402994
Summary
This study tested a new software tool called CORGEE that uses brain wave recordings (EEG) to measure how well children with hearing loss understand speech. The goal was to create an objective test that doesn't require children to verbally respond, which is difficult for young kids. Researchers compared the brain wave results with standard hearing tests in 90 children to see if the new method is effective and useful for audiologists.
