Brain waves could reveal what kids really hear

NCT ID NCT06402994

Summary

This study tested a new software tool called CORGEE that uses brain wave recordings (EEG) to measure how well children with hearing loss understand speech. It involved 90 children, from infants to 12-year-olds, to see if this objective method works better than current tests that require children to respond verbally. The goal is to create a more accurate and easier way to diagnose hearing problems and fit hearing aids, especially for young children who can't easily tell us what they hear.
