Brain scans probe Anorexia's hidden triggers
NCT ID NCT05155280
Summary
This study aimed to understand how the brain chemical serotonin is involved in food avoidance for people with anorexia nervosa. Researchers used advanced brain scans (PET and fMRI) and food choice tasks to compare brain activity between 57 participants with anorexia and healthy controls. The goal was to gather knowledge to potentially guide future treatments, not to test a treatment itself.
