First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two gentle brain stimulation techniques—taVNS and tACS—can reduce self-harm urges and impulsivity in 90 teens aged 12-18 who engage in non-suicidal self-injury. Participants receive either the combo or tACS alone over 14 sessions. The goal is to see if the combo leads to more consistent and lasting improvements.
