Can zapping the brain boost thinking in tough schizophrenia cases?

NCT ID NCT07445620

First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study compares two types of brain stimulation (accelerated theta burst and high-frequency TMS) against a fake treatment to see if they can improve thinking and memory in people with schizophrenia that hasn't responded well to standard treatments. Ninety adults on clozapine will receive 20 sessions over 4 weeks. The goal is to find a safe way to ease cognitive symptoms, not to cure the disease.
