First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two types of brain stimulation (tDCS and rTMS) can improve motor function in people with locked-in syndrome, a condition where the body is paralyzed but the mind is awake. 72 participants will receive either real or sham stimulation for 4 weeks, and their movement will be tracked for 6 months. The goal is to see if this approach can help restore some ability to move.
