Zapping depression away: new brain stimulation study offers hope
NCT ID NCT05537285
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized form of non-invasive brain stimulation could better treat depression and loss of pleasure (anhedonia) in people who haven't responded to standard medications. Sixty adults with treatment-resistant depression received either a personalized stimulation protocol, a standard protocol, or a sham (placebo) treatment over one week. Researchers measured changes in depression and anhedonia to see if the personalized approach was more effective.
