New radiation technique aims to fight advanced cancer while sparing memory
NCT ID NCT06518057
Summary
This study is testing a specialized form of radiation therapy for people with breast or lung cancer that has spread to the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The treatment aims to target cancer cells throughout this fluid while carefully avoiding a key memory center in the brain, hoping to better control the cancer's spread and reduce side effects like memory problems. Researchers will enroll about 22 adults to see if this approach is more effective and safer than standard radiation.
