Brain study seeks clues to Parkinson's freezing episodes

Summary
This study looks at why some people with Parkinson's disease suddenly feel like their feet are glued to the floor, known as freezing of gait. Researchers will use special brain recordings from already-implanted devices to compare brain activity in people with and without this symptom. About 36 adults with Parkinson's who have a Medtronic Percept DBS device will do walking and movement tasks. The goal is to better understand what causes freezing, not to test a new treatment.
