Brain map breakthrough: scans could pinpoint best depression therapy

NCT ID NCT04041479

Summary

This study is testing a new way to personalize a non-drug treatment for depression that hasn't responded to medication. Researchers will use a special brain scan to try to match each person to the most effective type of magnetic brain stimulation. About 348 adults with treatment-resistant depression will receive either the new scan-guided treatment, a standard treatment, or a comparison treatment to see which works best.
