Scientists zap brains to unlock memory secrets

NCT ID NCT05374551

First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at how different parts of the brain work together to help us remember events. Researchers used a gentle magnetic pulse (TMS) to temporarily change brain activity in 41 healthy young adults. They then tested memory and used MRI scans to see how brain networks responded, aiming to understand which brain regions are essential for forming and recalling memories.
